Step 1: In-person clinical exam

Your treating dentist (or a dentist in the practice) examines your teeth, gums, and bite. This is the step no online quiz can replace.

They are looking for:

Crowding, spacing, or bite issues aligners can address
Cavities, gum inflammation, or other problems that should be resolved before orthodontic movement
Whether your case is mild, moderate, or complex enough to need a different approach

This exam is clinical care — not a sales conversation dressed up as medicine.

Step 2: Digital scan and photos

If you are a candidate for aligners, the practice typically takes a digital 3D scan of your teeth (often with an iTero scanner) plus clinical photos. No messy putty impressions in most cases.

Step 3: Same-visit smile preview

Step 4: Your written treatment fee

Step 5: If you accept treatment

Once you say yes:

Your dentist reviews the ClinCheck plan, requests adjustments if needed, and gives final approval and prescribes in the Invisalign system
Aligners are manufactured and you return to the practice to receive them, learn wear and care instructions, and schedule check-ins
